PERSONAL TRAINING TESTIMONIALS
“I've had the true honor of knowing Jess since college. From the beginning, Jess has always been a warm, open, and emotionally intuitive soul. I've seen her relationship with her physique and sense of self truly transform over this past decade. Not only is Jess one of the most beautiful humans and dancers that I've met, she is also a phenomenal trainer.
Jess became my trainer at a very difficult time in my life, where I would only trust someone I knew with what was happening with my body and spirit. She helped me overcome my fears with strength training and weight lifting, and also helped me realign my negative views of my body. I'm in the best shape of my life. I have never been physically stronger and able to do harder workouts for longer. It's because Jess very patiently taught me the importance of proper techniques, from my first dead lift and jump squat to much crazier exercises that I could never have imagined doing.
Jess never spoke about exercises or the work we were doing in terms of how it would make my body look. It was always about health, long term stability, functioning, etc. Every workout and stretch was tailored to how I was feeling. If I had a busted toe, needed to workout in Central Park without weights, felt tight in my hips, etc. Jess would recalibrate the workout based on what I needed. She is such an expert at her job that she could do it on a whim.
Jess also talked me down when I would freak out about my weight. If I didn't fit into a particular dress, or had a spiraling thought process about my body, Jess would bring me back to reality.
The best part of all of this though is that it gave me an excuse to hang out with Jess twice a week. She really is as warm, smart, funny, and real as her instagram purports. Her open laugh and heart will make you feel like everything will be okay. I am lucky to have someone like Jess in my life pull me out of a very dark time. She did it with such patience, love, and grace with her expertise. Anyone who gets to work with her is lucky.”

“When I first started working with Jessica I was still very much in the pain management phase of navigating a neck injury I received from a car accident. I realized that in holding on to the anger I felt about receiving that injury, I was also holding on to the pain. It’s like my muscles became offended; the more I told the story the more still my neck became, pulling my shoulders and upper back into a tensed and defensive state. I was always bracing for impact, especially in the car. I needed to learn new postures that would liberate me from falling back into what I felt to be very justified indignation. I needed to start telling new stories to my body and I also knew that I needed a guide.
What I never anticipated was how quickly I would trust Jessica. This vibrant human shows up at my door to give me the gift of movement and connection to my body. Our time together is truly a light in my calendar. In the beginning, our workouts started small as she gauged where my body was at and what I was capable of. I was surprised at how many parts of my body I had little or no awareness in, no doubt the byproduct of years of numbing myself.
As we worked into these spaces I found that I carried more than just a pain in my neck from a car accident. Jessica has the sensitivity and skills to help me navigate unexpected swells of emotion as I learned where in my body I held onto certain memories or experiences. It has not always been comfortable or easy to do this work together, but her generosity and openness has allowed me the space to gain insight into the experience my body has had in a way that feels safe and productive. I have had to stop sessions in the past and I have been met with the most patient and careful treatment from her. She simply alters her plan in real time to suit where my body is that day - in this way it is always tailored to what I need. Her commitment to continuing to learn how to serve not just people’s bodies, but also their spirits, tells me I have made a wise choice in choosing to work with her.
We did not start with any weight loss goal or specific region or body part I wanted to change. We simply wanted to increase awareness where I had gone numb. We have certainly done that and I have benefitted immensely from trying on different movements with her that allow me to access muscles I have never really tapped into before. After countless squats and deadlifts I can now say that I am able to lift myself up with integrity and stand firmly on my own two feet. What a miracle!
Jessica has changed my whole life, not just the state of my body. I’m stronger, and my body looks better than it ever has, because that’s what happens when you begin working out correctly and consistently. My eyes are brighter, I am less repressed emotionally, and there is an openness I feel at having flung open the windows and allowed the light in. I have stepped into acceptance - of myself, of the experiences my body has endured, and of the joy that is available to me now that I have begun this work. When I stand up I am upright, aligned, and powerful. I credit her for seeing my potential long before I did, and for teaching me how to access it. I feel so fortunate to have found her.”

“Usually when people go to a personal trainer, they have something they're trying to lose, but with Jess, it was something I was trying to gain. I was in freeze mode and I needed to remember how to move my body again. Jess helped me create intentional space for movement medicine in a way that felt good and accessible to me. It wasn't about lifting the heaviest weights or looking at a before and after, Jess worked with me to cultivate a plan that was specific to my needs and flexible enough to support my process. She was such a motivating force throughout our time together and has a way of lifting you up while having you lift more than you ever thought you could!! I am so grateful to Jess and her commitment to her clients.”
